Loving the Kid pics!

The most recent pic of my lil' nephew, Ethan..He's so cute!

We went and ate with my family the other day and Grumps had a stogie he was about to open...and this is what Zoee did with it. Learning the bad habits early, Aye??

Watching Dora with her Daddy

We are so proud she is holding her own bottle..and look how she holds it!

Clapping to the music on Dora the Explorer

Just love those chubby cheeks!

Look how messy her play yard is...I pick it up and she tears her toys right back out again.

My 100th Post!

I love every moment of being a mom to my lil' pride and joy, Zoee Ambrielle....and because I started this blog for the purpose of showing it to her one day..I dedicate my 100th post to her.

You will never know how special you are in lives..but I hope that that the way we live our lives reflects the lovely moments we share and I get to keep showing you every day! lil' Zoee bug!

I found this lil' poem and it rings so true...ENJOY!

Before I Was A Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I Was A Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I Was A Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.

Before I Was A Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.

Before I Was A Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I Was A Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment,
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

Lovely Moments At Home Part II

Mike says Zoee looks like a lil' baby orangetang when she gets up from a nap and her hair looks like this! LOL She's so spunky!

Look at her holding her GINORMOUS bottle. I try to give her smaller ones and she likes either the really small ones (4 oz.ers) or the big ones. And we're still working on transferring to a sippy cup..but she's just not having it right now.

Look at that messy face!

With her GINORMOUS bottle again and look..she's wearing "BIG GIRL" Jammies...Man, she's growing up WAY TOO FAST!

We've had a very relaxing weekend. It's the first days off Mike has had in three we took every opportunity to reconnect as a family and get lots of naps in. Zoee loved having her Daddy home all weekend...he is such a great dad! Zoee is doing more and more things daily..and this is such a fun age. She is waving and saying Bye-Bye everytime somebody leaves or walks away..or even just leaves the room. She giggles very loudly when the cat chases a laser that Mike shoots up on the wall. And she's been so sweet...very loveable!

10 Months has almost come and gone!

Zoee loves to chew on EVERYTHING..but shoes are her speciality!

She's sporting her lil' Tommy Hilfiger jacket..isn't it adorable??
It's almost like she's got the knawing down to an art.

She even carries them around in her mouth
She looks like a puppy when she does this.

She loves to ride around on her lil' car

And plays with all the bells and whistles on it.

She can even push it.

She's going for a stroll.

And even braves taking several steps on her own.

But then decides to hold

Isn't she the cutest lil' DROOL bug or what???

We went to see our pediatrician today for Zoee's well-visit. It was suppose to be her 9-month check, but the doc had to go on vacation when our visit was scheduled at the beginning of the month and so we didn't get to see her until today. Grammy went with us and Zoee had to get a TB test done (which everything looks good so far) and I decided to get her the H1N1 vaccination. She said they were going to be giving it early in the season next year, which is great! After I (as the first time mother) asked the doc a bizillion questions (seriously..I had a whole list written down), Zoee took her two shots like a champ. She always initially freaks out when the nurse holds her down..but then as soon as the shot is given she doesn't even cry. She lets out a big scream and then it's over. She's fine after that. She's such a trooper.

Her stats were as follows: 10 months old
Weight: 18.1 lbs. (She's still a lightweight, but is in the 50th percentile)
Height: 28 1/2 inches long (She's 75th percentile)

Dr. R. said that the reason she probably looks so little is because she's pretty tall for her age and she's spread out lengthwise instead of being chubby.

Dr. R. also said we could start brushing her teeth and I told her that Zoee doesn't take well to regular sippy cups...she said with as many teeth as she has..she will probably do better with a sippy cup with a straw. We have one, so I'm going to see how she does with it tomorrow.

I told the doc that when I feed Zoee table foods and sometimes even her snackies, that she has a bad gag reflex and often chokes. So she gave me some pointers to help work with Zoee and get her used to eating table foods. Sometimes this scares me to death....especially when we are out in public....I don't like people to stare..cause you know what they are all thinking. LOL I feel like I have hindered Zoee in some ways because of this choking fear that I have...I haven't fed her enough food to get used to it...but Dr. R. said just take it slow and she will eventually learn. Every kid is different. So we're going to be venturing out more, cause this momma doesn't want to hold her daughter back in any way!

Also, tonight Zoee has said the words "Kitty Kitty" and "Bye Bye"
Mike watched her tonight while Grammy and I went over to Hobby Lobby. He fed her dinner and he said she saw the letter "A" and repeated it back to him while slamming her hands down on the highchair tray over and over. Surely she's not reading yet?? HA HA! I think it was just a fluke..something she heard. I mean I work on her ABC's with her all the time, read to her, and she watched Sesame Street. I can't remember if the letter "A" was on there anytime this week or not. I know they had the letter "Z" on there, which was neat...cause I got to practice Z-O-E-E with her repeatedly. But I don't know where she picked up on the letter "A" unless it's because I sing the alphabet song to her and we play with her alphabet pal a lot.

Zoee loves to wave goodbye..she can blow kisses (only when she chooses to) and for the first time this week she is holding up her own bottle. Yes folks, she has FINALLY mastered it. She has known how to for a LONG time..but hasn't chosen to do so until this week. Mom and I were talking tonight about how crazy it is that one day she isn't doing or saying something and then the next day she decides to. I still cannot believe she is almost about to be 11 months old. I've already started on the plans for her 1st birthday party. It's going to be so cute and really fun for her and the guests. Once I figure out to post videos on here I will upload a few.

A Trip to the E.R.

Tonight was quite eventful...but not in a good way. Since it was Saturday, I laid Zoee down for a late evening nap. She slept for about 2 hours when all of a sudden I heard her screaming at the top of her lungs. I dashed into her room to see what was wrong and she was literally projectile vomiting all over the place. She had thrown up all over herself, her crib sheets, her crib, and the floor. I was panicked because I had never experienced anything of this nature being a new mom and all. I cleaned her up as best she would let me..she was still kind of dry heaving (sounds just like adults) and I ran into the living room and grabbed the phone. Mike had just gotten off of work and I asked him (of course with my panicky voice) "When are you going to be here??" He said he was just around the corner. I tried to settle Zoee down..but about every 5-10 minutes she would throw up more. I called my doctor (who is on vacation) the nurse gets on the phone (of course the one I don't care for in our pediatrician's office) and I told her what had happened. She told me if it gets worse to where she throws up more than 3 times in an hour to go to the E.R. Right after she said that, Zoee threw up again and so I told Mike that we're going to the E.R. because I knew she was going to get dehydrated with all that was coming up. We got out the door with Zoee managing to throw up again on our way out all over our living room rug..and the tile floor.

POOR BABY!!! I felt so bad for her..cause she was freaked out because she had never experienced anything like this before. We hurried to the hospital and she threw up again while they were checking her vitals. Thank GOD it didn't take very long for them to call us back cause there were a TON of people in the waiting room. We were at the E.R. for over 4 hours and Zoee had to get poked and prodded. It was extremely emotional...they came in and had to put a cathether on her to take a urine sample. The nurse didn't know what she was she tried several times. They had to call another nurse in that did know what she was doing and after about poking her 5 times, they finally got it in. Meanwhile, Mike starts sniffling. I think I've only seen him cry maybe two times since we've been together in the past 8 years. He was very upset with all that had happened and to see her in pain was just gut wrenching for the both of I started crying, too. There were two nurses in the room at the was taking blood and putting in an I.V. for to have fluids and the other was doing the cathether...I'm sure they were like..what the heck parents..get it together! They had to come back and get more they had to stick her lil' arm again. It hurt me so much to see her that way. While waiting on the results, she wouldn't fall asleep..she just kept staring at the door of the room..I'm sure thinking to herself...please no one else come in with anymore needles or things to stick in unmentionable places.

After the four hours had passed, the doctor came in and said he couldn't find anything on the tests that she probably just had a 24-hour stomach virus..that it has been going around. He gave me some instructions...and by the time they took her I.V. out and we headed out the door, Zoee was feeling a lot better. The doctor made her drink some Pedialyte to make sure she kept it down before releasing her. I think those fluids really really helped her. She was so exhausted though and she fell right to sleep as soon as we got home. I'm so glad she is feeling better..I'm really hoping it is just a 24-hour thing...and nothing worse. We go to see her pediatrician on Thursday of this coming I will let you know what she says about it all.

This is a pic of her right after they put her I.V. in...poor lil' thing.
