Road Trip Stop in Balmorhea

On our way back home, we decided to take another day and stop in Balmorhea.  That was our original mini vacay plan but we decided to change it last minute to El Paso so we could see our friends.  I'm so glad we stopped because this was such a treat getting to spend a day with my family in a beautiful place.  I had been wanting to go here for a long time.
We stayed the night in a quaint little family-owned hotel where every room was decorated differently.  Our room was very nice.  Here is Zoee in the poster bed, which she loved.  It had a wonderful court yard with trees and flowers all planted and we even had a frog visitor outside our door and a bird's nest the next morning perched up above our light outside.  They are all handmade nests..it's awesome.

Beautiful sunset while swinging at the Balmorhea State Park
Getting into the water for the first time.  The water is so neat.  It's fresh water and there are fish swimming all around you and it's really slippery.
Awesome clouds in the distance on our travel over there.

If you can see, Zoee and I swam all the way out to the middle.  It's 25 feet deep in this part (she has her life jacket on, of course.  There is a huge solid concrete slab out there that Zoee liked climbing up on.

Going of the diving board
And there's her splash
